This large sandy beach faces W and is exposed to more winds as a result. In N or NW winds, this is an excellent wave beach and although the waves aren’t as clean as some of the other beaches in the area, they can be just as big. Rest Bay can be hazardous though and a mile long stretch of water can suddenly become 100 metres long without much warning. This is not really a good location for beginners.
